ACLU-TN Right to Vote Campaign
As Wintermute has mentioned, TN has a brand spankin’ new law simplifying the process for persons with past felony convictions to get back their right to vote, and the ACLU-TN is holding town meetings across the state to help everyone understand the procedure.
Nashville’s meeting will be:
Thursday, August 31, 2006, 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm, Jefferson Street Missionary Baptist Church
I for one am extremely grateful to Senator Cohen and the ACLU-TN for their hard work and persistance on this issue. It seems much too rare these days that we actually get some good news in the fight for freedom, justice, and human rights. It’s nice to have one in the ‘win’ column.
