Counting My Blessings

Sometimes I think it’s important to take a step back and be grateful for the talents we have which we usually take for granted.

For example, I have the ability to watch a DVD, without subsequently dragging a cheese grater across it when I’m done. I’ve never thought much about it, but judging by the condition of some of the discs I get from Netflix, it apparently is a rare and extraordinary skill indeed.

The “drag a cheese grater across rented DVDs” crowd likes to borrow DVDs from my local library as well.

Man, I swear I don’t know how they do it. I couldn’t ruin a disc so thoroughly if I tried. I have CDs that I’ve owned for almost 20 years that still don’t have a scratch on them, how in the hell do these people destroy a disc so thoroughly so quickly? It just boggles the mind.

Chez, I used to cuss the DVD ‘readers’ until I realized, most of the DVDs come loose in the jewel case, they then get tossed around as they transfer from libarry to libarry.

Jon, many Netflix people…lack the ability to just put the disc back in the sleeve. You are blessed.
