    got mixed emotions … on the one hand, the measure was ignorant and racist and made Nashville look like a hick town; OTOH, the idea that we can only petition for legal protection once every four years (and that there is NO statewide procedure for such in existence) … that is a concern

    Oh absolutely, I’d be in favor of correcting the law, hell I wouldn’t have a problem with changing it to allow one with every year.

    But the multiple levels of irony here are just too delicious — the decision does read the law strictly as it is written, in plain English Only. Do Crafton and his minions want “activist judges” to “legislate from the bench” and/or to disrespect that English language they love so dearly?
